About the Artist

Dorene Ribotsky is a contemporary, figurative, and abstract artist. Her art aims to evoke happiness and provide visual stimulation through vibrant colors, dynamic compositions, and playful imagery.
By exploring themes of joy, beauty, and imagination, she seeks to create artwork that uplifts the spirit and engages the viewer on a sensory level. Each piece is a celebration of life's beauty and complexity, inviting contemplation and sparking curiosity. By employing a variety of techniques and mediums, she aspires to craft experiences that resonate deeply and inspire a sense of connection to the beauty that surrounds us. Ultimately, her goal is to share moments of happiness and visual delight through her artistic expression, offering a glimpse into a vibrant and imaginative realm.

 

Dorene currently lives in Los Angeles, but is a true native New Yorker. She's energetic, driven, creative, and loud (the New Yorker bit)! And her art reflects all of that. Dorene was raised by her mother and grandmother. They never had any money, never had it 'easy' - but you wouldn't know that from meeting them. They were fierce, passionate, 'don't screw with me' type of women, but they were also always laughing and always making other people laugh. They knew how to bring love and hilarity to any situation - good or bad. The duo showed Dorene the importance of having fun, being strong, and not holding back your emotions. They showed her how to live authentically, and for Dorene part of that was expressing her feelings through her art. Color and the use of bold imagery always made her feel happy and powerful. In her art, she is determined to represent that tenacity and optimism that was ingrained in her throughout her life.

Dorene attended Parsons School of Design in NYC. Her focus was design and advertising. She reveled in coming up with unique, abstract, and stunning ways to express and communicate ideas. After working for large advertising agencies in NYC, she and her husband opened what would become a very successful advertising agency. Following 30 years of developing award-winning creative internationally for advertising campaigns, communications, designs, and branding, she decided to go back to her roots. She once again is expressing herself through creating art. In her paintings, she strives to convey a sense of positivity and wonder, inviting the audience to immerse themselves in a world of creativity.
